What is Tetris?
It is a popular electronic game, developed by Russian programmer and engineer Alexey Pajitnov in 1984. It acquired its names after two words: a Greek word "tetra" – (meaning "four") and "tennis", which actually was the favorite game of Pajitnov. How to play:
The rules of the Tetris game are very simple: you need to operate different geometric figures, called tetrominoes. Under geometric figures not any figures are meant. Here there is a certain pack of figures. They are squares, squiggles, reverse squiggles, L blocks, reverse L blocks, T blocks and line pieces. But all of them are composed of 4 square pieces, colored differently. Colors may vary, but a standard Microsoft Tetris game has red, magenta, yellow, cyan, blue, light grey and green blocks. Other versions may have other shades of these colors. During the game tetrominoes are falling down and a player has to move them from side to side and to rotate them. These moves allow a player to find the better place for each block and to form a horizontal line of 10 blocks without any gaps. When a line is completed, it disappears and a player gets a certain number of scores. The levels in the game seem to be endless. They can vary by the speed of blocks falling. This fact makes this simple game more difficult and intriguing. But still the game can easily come to an end if you fail to place the blocks properly and there won’t be any spare space left.

Tetris may bring much fun. It can also help to kill the time. Having started playing Tetris, you will never notice how long you spend playing it. The process can last for hours!
